Electrode Placement

For a first forearm EMG test, place two measurement electrodes along the muscle direction and keep the reference electrode away from the strongest contraction area.

Good placement is not just anatomy. It also depends on stable contact, low movement, and a clean power setup.

  • Use wet electrodes first.
  • Keep the wire motion small.
  • Compare relaxed and contracted states.
  • Move the electrodes slightly if the signal does not react.

For AAW Lab modules, follow the shorter Quick Start workflow.
