Buying Guide

Your situation Recommended module
First EMG experiment, want the safest path to a visible waveform AAW sEMG Flex
Compact wearable, strap, handheld device, or enclosure AAW sEMG Mini
Want fewer wires and live wireless waveforms AAW sEMG Wireless
Medical diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or safety-critical control Do not buy

AAW Lab’s first EMG products are for education, research prototyping, electronics DIY, and HCI development. They are not medical devices or consumer health monitors.

You should be willing to read documentation, follow wiring steps, and accept that developer-beta hardware, packaging, and measured specifications may keep changing.

For a first EMG experiment, choose AAW sEMG Flex.

Flex supports lead-wire wet electrodes, lead-wire dry electrodes, and onboard dry electrodes. You can start with wet electrodes to get a stable waveform, then compare dry electrode behavior.

If you already have an ADC, oscilloscope, Arduino, ESP32, or STM32, Flex and Mini can both be used as analog front-end modules. Choose based on electrode style and mechanical size.

Before buying, confirm that:

  • Your ADC input range fits the front-end output range.
  • Your human-connected experiment uses safe isolated power.
  • You can handle sampling rate, filtering, recording, and display software.
